First, gather the required door lock and deadbolt for your door.  These can be purchased at any home store.  They have kits available with both deadbolt and doorlocks in one complete package.  They also sell four piece sets for front and back doors. I would suggest buying a quality product; after all, this is your home.  Remove the old deadbolt hardware with a speedy power drill.  Hold both sides of the deadbolt with your free hand to prevent the deadbolt from falling to the floor.
Next, use a long screwdriver bit in your power drill to tackle the doorknob lock hardware.  A phillips head screwdriver works just as fine, but will take a little longer to manually remove the screws.
Continue on to the installation of the new hardware; in this case, a brushed-stainless finish.  Installation is basically the reverse of removal.  Just remember to turn the deadbolt to the locking position to insert the screws.
Sooner or later, you may need to replace those door locks and deadbolts to your home.  Due to a lost key or new tenants in a rental unit, a stronger, more secure lock is needed.  This project can be accomplished in about 30 minutes 'til a hour and is very simple to do.

Finally, tighten all screws to a hand-tight position.  Do not use the cordless drill for installation of the small screws into the side of the door itself.  You do not want to strip the wood with the power drill's power.  Just hand tighten when you get close to being flush with the work.
