How Much Does Installing A Handrail Cost?
Installing handrails add safety to the stairway area.  They come in a variety of different cuts and can be stained to match existing trimwork.  To install 9 feet of handrail (a typical size), a handyman will charge about $180 for the complete job, including materials, or about $20 per linear feet.

Staining the wood will cost $22 per linear feet, however, the average DIYer can complete this task, as long as you find the right product to match the existing trim.
