Using A Hammer. The correct way to place a nail into work is by first steadying the nail with one hand while giving the nail a burst of small taps to get started. Once the nail is seated in the work, move your hammering hand to the very end (the butt) of the hammer, giving the nail long solid hits, until the nail is flush with the work.
